Stripers and Hybrid Fishing is Picking Up

We are trolling Capt. Mack’s Umbrella rigs and his new Mini Mack rig. We use lead core line for the mini Mack’s. The water is 50-100 feet deep and we are trolling 30-35 feet down. Sometime we have 2 and 3 fish on at the same time. BOY! WHAT FUN!!!! Fishing with us has been Richard Robinson his dad Rick, Alycia and Abby Murphy and my son Brad. In 3 days we caught 51 stripers and hybrids. They have been weighing 3-12 pounds.

Our fish are in 30-40 feet

February 4, 2019 30-40 feet is the area that we are targeting for stripers and hybrids. Our fishing depth is 25-30 feet. That’s the depth that our fish are hitting the best. Today was a slow day. Larry Freeman went scouting with me and the first 3 holes only produced 5 fish. The fourth hole had fish stacked from 15-40 feet. Every time that we dropped our lines down, we hit a fish on the head. These fish stayed with us about 45 minutes. We ended up with 15 fish and then we ran out of bait.

Clark Hill lake is still muddy in some areas. We fished on side of the lake and the water was clear. Then moved to the other side and the water was muddy. We caught fish in both places. The fish are in 30-40 feet of water and we are fishing three cranks off the bottom. Larry Freeman and Dave Chiera fished with me today. We caught 17 nice slab fish. I caught the big fish of the day of 6 pounds. Our time of fishing was 7:30 to 11:00. Check our photo page.
