April 8, 2020 Stripers and Hybrid are Moving into the Shallows.

We are using planner boards in 5-20 feet of water. When the fish hit it, they are taking it down town.

Stripers Moving into the Shallows.

We are pulling planner boards in shallow water. The stripers are moving to the banks and shallow water humps.

Stripers and Hybrids are on the Move

The stripers are starting to move down river and they are hungry. We are down lining in 30-40 feet of water, fishing 25-35 feet down. Our fish are coming from the channels of the creeks. Fishing with me was Ray Dowdy and Larry Freeman from Grovetown. They caught 18 stripers that weighed 3-4 pounds. The water was 53 degree and clear.

Stripers are Still Hot and Heavy on the Mini Mack Rig

The Mini Mack Rigs are really producing for us. We use lead core like to get them where the fish are. JP Rosamond and Glenn Tanner caught 14 nice stripers and hybrids. The two big ones were 13 and 18 pounds. My son Brad took George Lambert and Rick Robinson out and they trolled the Mini Mack Rigs and caught 22 fish. Five of these were large mouth bass, which they released. The two biggest fish they caught were 8 and 13 pounds. Check out our photos.

THE ONLY PLACE IN THE CSRA THAT CARRY THE MINI MACK RIGS IS BROADWAY TACKLE in Augusta.

Stripers are Starting to School on Top

The fire are on fire with our Mini Mack Rigs. They can’t leave them alone. Trolling 2 mpr and letting our lead core line out 8 colors, makes our rigs run 30-35 feet and we are catching fish like crazy. They just can’t let our Mini Mack rig alone. We are seeing schooling fish and we just troll through them. My grandson Johnathan and son Brad fished for two days with me and caught 40 stripers and hybrids on Mini Mack Rigs.
